Hockey Clothing
The market for ice hockey in North America illustrates this. The sport has grown in popularity all over the world due to the development of synthetic ice.
The padding on the pelvis, thighs and the hips of goalie pant is thicker. Goalie jocks (also known as jills) are less protective of the groin but they have more padding on the front of the cup.
Apparel
Hockey players are required to wear protective gear as the sport requires high-speed skating on hard surfaces. Players collide frequently, and sometimes even deliberately. Besides ice skates and sticks the typical player's safety gear includes a helmet (with an visor or a full face mask), shoulder pads and chest protector, elbow pads mouth guards, gloves, heavily lined shorts (also known as hockey pants or jock athletic protector, for males; and a jockstrap, also known as a "jill" for females) as well as a pelvic protector (known as a girdle for women) and thigh the tailbone, hip, as well as shin pads. A neck protector may also be worn.
In recent times technology has been used to reduce the weight of ice hockey clothing and to make it more useful. Many companies employ carbon composites in stick shafts as well as specially-designed foam to make shoulder pads lighter and without sacrificing protection. Other improvements include 3D scanning to accurately depict a person's body proportions and make sure that elbows, hip, and shin pads are designed to fit the specific player.
As more people become familiar with the sport, and as synthetic ice surfaces are built all over the world to allow players to play in areas without natural ice, the hockey market will continue to grow. Additionally there has been a rise in the number of female players which is a good sign for market growth.

Jerseys
Hockey jerseys are the uniforms hockey players wear. The jerseys are usually thicker and come with longer sleeves than other sports jerseys. The jerseys have the team logo on front and the last name of the player on the their back and the number from 0 to 100. Some jerseys bear a "C", "A", or "A" to signify the captain of the team and alternate captain.
There are two kinds of NHL jerseys: authentic and replica. Original jerseys are made from the same material as jerseys worn by players, and feature the identical design. Replica jerseys could be made from different materials (usually less expensive) and might not have the exact same design as authentic jerseys.
The majority of NHL teams have three or four sets of jerseys to wear during games. They also have some special sets, such as heritage designs and charity events. Each jersey is fitted with a loop of fabric sewn to the inside back known as a fight strap which is fixed to the player's pants during a game to stop the sweater from being pulled over a player's head during a fight.
The Authentic Pro is the top-tier jersey that is available from the NHL and is made of high-performance fabrics with tackle twill multilayered, 3D embroidery and reinforced stitching. It comes in men's and women's styles. The Authentic Premier is a version of the Authentic Pro that is designed to replicate the look of the jerseys worn by players on the court.
Shirts
The jerseys, or sweaters, of a team are their most recognizable clothing. The primary logo of the team is displayed on the front, while the secondary logo is typically located on the shoulders. The number of the player is displayed below the player's name, which could range from 0 up to 100. The team captains wear a capital "C" to the left of their team logo. Two other players designated as alternate captains, wear an "A".
Most NHL teams have a third jersey, or alternate, that is worn for special occasions, like for the Winter Classic or Stadium Series. In addition there are many teams who have a throwback or retro alternative to their home jerseys. These third-sweater designs are an excellent way for teams to play around and could be used as a base for their primary sweaters.
The Vancouver Canucks have a beautiful sweater that blends traditional and modern design. The navy and black jerseys are striking, making them easy to identify on the ice. White stripes provide contrast. The Canucks also sport a unique font on their names and numbers that gives a clean look of the jersey.
